ABOUT ME
Hello, I'm Chris Booth, an aspiring software developer on a mission to turn my passion for coding into a thriving tech career. With a background as a content producer for blogs and radio, I've mastered the art of storytelling, and now I'm weaving my narratives into lines of Java and Python code.
Beyond coding, my creative spirit thrives through storytelling. My experience working closely with software developers has allowed me to help them share their unique experiences and insights, resulting in a vibrant portfolio of writing and editing.
But that's not the whole story. I also hold a Master of Arts in Health Journalism, reflecting my deep-rooted interest in health and well-being. My ultimate goal is to leverage technology in the health tech sector, contributing my coding skills to build a healthier world.

RADIO & AUDIO
This section showcases the radio and audio work that I have done over the course of my career and studies. It features pieces that highlight my story structuring abilities, my editing skills, my creativity, as well as the ability to weave interesting and intriguing narratives through the voices of other people. It also shows some of the projects that I've been involved with and the multifaceted work I have done.
WRITING & EDITING
Writing is a great passion of mine, and I have been involved in a number of roles and projects that have required my skills as a writer. From working as a blog editor for the international tech job marketplace OfferZen to writing scripts and articles for a variety of publications, radio stations and social media, I have honed my talents as both a writer and an editor. Here are some examples of my best work.
VISUALS & VIDEO
While my main focus in my career has largely been writing and audio production, I have been involved in a number of projects that have required audio-visuals as well as videos. In my spare time, I have developed some video editing skills and continue to develop my skills behind the camera through personal projects and work. Children's Voices on COVID-19
Winner of WHO's Reboot Health & Wellbeing Challenge 2020
With the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, RX Radio started a new project called Children's Voices on COVID-19 where we created PSA, captured children's experiences and provided entertainment during the lockdown. We felt it was important for children's voices to be heard and shared with other children around the world.
This project was announced in July 2020 as one of the two winners of the UN and WHO's Reboot Health and Wellbeing Innovation Challenge - a victory which has lead us to be a part of the World Health Assembly in May 2021.
Booth In Japan
Personal Blog
Teaching English in Japan was a great personal and professional experience that helped me grow as a person and develop my inter-personal skills. However, not wanting to leave my journalistic skills to rust, I started a blog called Booth In Japan where I wrote and shared articles about a variety of topics ranging from travel information, cultural information, and personal experiences.
The blog was intended to act as a guide for those visiting Japan - particularly other South Africans. I also produced and edited a number of videos on this blog.
